TÜRKİYE HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT (2016-2024)
15/07/2025
ABDUCTIONS and ENFORCED DISAPPEARANCES REPORT
05/08/2025This report presents our findings on the alarming human rights violations in Türkiye between January and July 2025. It is part of our ongoing documentation efforts and follows previous reports published on 22 February, 5 June, and 18 June 2024, as well as the Annual Report released in February 2025. Each of these publications covers a distinct period and set of developments.
In this latest report, we focus on the systematic persecution of individuals associated—or alleged to be associated—with the Gülen Movement, and the continued political repression targeting opposition figures, including elected CHP mayors, as well as peaceful demonstrators.
The Turkish government continues to misuse anti-terror legislation to justify arbitrary detentions, prosecutions, and long-term exclusion from social, economic, and civic life—commonly referred to as “civil death.”
We share this report as part of our mission to document human rights violations and to contribute to a greater international response to the ongoing crisis in Türkiye.
